- Controls and Operates semi-automated BROWN paper machine through DCS (Distributive Control System)/PAS(Process Automation System)
- Monitoring and controlling plant operations, which includes plant parameters, reviewing production and quality results, anticipating and solving problems in a timely manner, identifying opportunities for improvement and maintaining good machine runnability. Optimized production & quality efficiency.
- Recording, compiling, reporting and documenting operating data, while maintaining and repairing equipment, inspecting pipelines, and monitoring process indicators, instruments, gauges and meters to detect and report any possible problems.
- Records in a log sheet operating data such as: vibration, abnormal sound, erratic pressure and level, Reports to production supervisor abnormal reading. Implement approved remedial actions immediately and knows how to troubleshoot problem in the machinery and paper quality standard per grade.
- Conducts adjustments and monitoring such as valve openings, steam pressure, condensate, fresh and recycled water, at the paper dryer sections and tanks conditions such as flow rates, pressures, temperatures, levels, etc. through displays, graphics and trend logs at DCS and actual reading.
- Conducts routine task monitoring, daily log book, and gathering data on paper quality, moisture, steam & condensate, power usage, instrument & service air, to maintain best run parameters
- Conducts safe on handling machines adheres to company's HSE policy, standards and approved operating procedures while performing duties/tasks. Leads and coordinates with the crew on how to handle and thread the paper to machine, organize and maintain environment to meet 5S goals and ensure maximum efficiency.
- Conducts start-up/shutdown procedures and maintenance activities.
- Accompanies the Instrument / Mechanical / Electrical Technicians to explain defects / faults ensuring safe preparation of equipment for routine planned maintenance, and test such repaired equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operation. Maintains adequate standard of housekeeping throughout plants.
- Coordinates with the ff. supervisor, maintenance, UPD, substation on power and steam usage when on-run, start-up & shutdown procedure
- Co-ordinates the routine / planned maintenance activities, including issuing work permits for maintenance jobs, shutting-down/starting up additional equipment to ensure that plant's operations are not interrupted.
- Conduct PMS shutdown meeting and Crew meeting, Assessment for all working and safety practices at area, Implement safety and health procedure
- Monitor and maintain environmental protection by implementing the safe procedures for handling dangerous wastes and apply waste segregation procedure at the mill to ensure safety compliance
- Participates in Emergency drills and emergency procedures. Discharges duties as assigned in the emergency plan effectively in emergency situations as a Fire Brigade Team, Emergency Response Team.
- Observes all safety norms and carries out duties in accordance with prescribed safety procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor, , participating in training/developing new recruits.
