Berry Appleman & Leiden, a premier global corporate immigration firm, is seeking qualified, experienced Emirati PRO candidates for a PRO position in our Dubai office.


OVERVIEW:


The Public Relations Officer (PRO) will undertake and facilitate all the activities for official submission and collection of application approval and timely processing of various legal documents, particularly but not limited to immigration, while ensuring compliance with local government regulations and company policy and procedure for processing of and delivery of assigned services. The PRO will also contribute to and assist in the office operations whenever required.


 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


• Represent BAL at locations such as the local Dubai and UAE government ministries and municipalities, embassies and consulates, airport, police station, and any other significant departments or official entities, in conjunction with the submission, processing, and approvals of visas, passports, work permits, residencies, licenses, registrations and so on, for BAL clients and staff


• Facilitate as needed with the local and regional government departments and semi-government organizations, as well as at Middle East consulates and embassies

• Collection and submission of correct documentation to the Ministry of Labor and/or other pertinent Dubai government authorities for all visa applications, regardless of type, of BAL clients and staff

• Collection and submission of correct documentation to the various Middle East consulates and embassies, as necessitated by BAL clients' immigration needs

• Follow up with Dubai authorities, and relevant embassies and consulates, as needed, to obtain approvals

• Arrange for efficient and timely collection of visas, official documents, and licenses, from official authorities upon completion

• Advise BAL management and staff of best practices and alternatives in the processing of visas and other documents or applications

• Monitor changes in rules in the various government departments and continuously advise BAL management and staff on new rules and procedures or changes to existing rules and procedures (in collaboration with the BAL Knowledge Management Team)

• Responding to client and staff queries on visa/labor/passport related matters

• Ensure all visa, medical and labor permits are up to date and arrange for timely renewals

• Assist in all general inquiries concerning UAE immigration matters

• Maintain data on, and monitor, all applications and approvals

• Provide PRO report to the Managing Director ME on a pre-determined schedule


 

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES


• Supervise and train the Junior PRO/Courier in their duties as related to immigration and licensing matters

• Other duties as assigned


 

QUALIFICATIONS:


Requirements:

• Must be Emirati

• Excellent spoken and written Arabic (MSA and dialect) 

• Conversational English is a plus, and fluent English is highly desirable

• Strong background in Dubai and UAE labor law and visa requirements

• Strong background in cultivating and maintaining strong work relationships within the immigration sphere

• Knowledgeable and competent on both Free Zone and Mainland procedures and regulations regarding immigration and licensing

• Must have contacts with the government departments and proven experience in working with them

• Computer literate in both Arabic and English

• Must have a valid UAE Driver's license

Experience:

• 5-10 years' experience in a similar position in Dubai

• Must have prior experience cultivating good rapport and working relationships within the immigration sector in the UAE

• At least 2 years of experience working in an Multi-cultural corporation or multi-cultural professional environment
is preferred

• Prior experience working for an immigration law firm is desirable


Minimum Education Level:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
